Pack It Out
Pack It Out!
Questions & Answers
Q. Does it actually keep the smell contained?
A. Absolutely! We've tested the bag in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions with all sorts of smelly things.
Q. How does it work?
A. The inner layer was designed specifically to block molecular transport of gases, like oxygen, CO2 and methane from permeating through it. The outer layer seals the bag opening and provides a robust external layer for indoor and outdoor use.
Q. How big is the bag?
A. When flat, the bag is 8-7/8" (225 mm) wide and 10-5/8" (270 mm) tall. The opening is 7.8"(200 mm). The bag can hold about 1/2 gal (2L) of water. It can easily contain 2 diapers.
Q. How much does it weigh?
A. The bag weighs 2.8 oz (80g) - a small weight penalty for fresh air
Q. How do I use it?
A. After you put your waste in the bag, press out the excess air in the bag, roll the straps down as far as you would like, and then fasten the clip - 3 folds (half-rolls) or more are recommended to block the odor.
Q. How do I clean the bag?
A. Rinse the inside and outside of the bag with warm water and soap. Do not use boiling water, bleach or alcohols as these could damage the bag
Q. Where is the bag made?
A. The bag was designed and tested in USA. The inner layer is made in USA, the outer layer is made in China. The product is assembled in and shipped from USA.
Q. Is the bag sustainable, can I recycle it when I am finished with it?
A. The outer fabric of this bag is made from recycled polyester, and the shipping material can be recycled. The bag itself cannot be recycled but was designed for re-usability.
Q. Why a bag design instead of a rigid container?
A. First, the bag is flexible and conforms to fit in odd pockets better than rigid containers. The second reason is that the bag can be folded and rolled down to package in smaller spaces than a container.
